My New Home Page

| | Comments (16)

Well, I spent my entire weekend doing almost nothing but web programming. And what do I have to show for it? A new homepage! I think I dumped a good 15-20 hours into the new site, but if you ask me, it looks much more professional now. Everything seems to be working out on it (aside from minor IE display glitches, but that's just one more reason to go get Firefox (since it is a far superior web browser).

So let me know what you think of the new site. Also, be sure to report any problems with it to me so that I can look into fixing them. I already know that some of the images on the main page will display funny under IE.. if anyone knows how to solve that, please let me know!

Hey man, like the new site design.
I really should just take the time to get a site of my own going, instead of the mucly limited El-J I have. *shakes fist at silly thingy* Anyway, thought I would give you a shout before I go back to huddling with my books. Yiiiipie its HW time >.

cheers

nice layout! :) wonder where you figured out how to include PHP files with Perl? :) hehehe Though I did notice that in your picture gallery it doesn't keep where you are in the menu system, so you have to back all the way out. That will come in time :) It's also nice to see you get a blogroll up. AND keep the RSS links up! www.spreadfirefox.com !!! go get it!

Everything seems to be working for me in the pictures gallery. Sometimes my web server needs a little kick in the ass to make things work tho -- I've found that simply touching the files on the server tends to release them from the cache and so weird problems tend to go away because of that.

Oho! So after talking to Jake, we figured out how to reproduce the issue (click the links on the page, not on the site map) and it's been fixed. Thanks Jake!

I think you need to put in an ID10T error message somewhere =o)

Oh...and the new layout kicks ass

Lol! Glad you like the new layout... as for idiots... I'd much rather get together with Becky to make our "The Customer Is Always WRONG!" chain of stores. :-P

::laughs:: sweet...can I work there

wait wait...I need to put my comment from last night in here..."I don't want to sound gay or nothin...but I think unicorns and your new website kick ass!!!"

Of course! You can be the manager of the "No, you're wrong, it's THIS PRICE" department. Or perhaps the "If you don't like it, then shop somewhere else" department...

Awesome lol...wait...what happens if the Better Business Bureau gets involved

ooh ooh...can I be in charge of the "Carry it out your damn self" department too

It'll be against our chain's TOS for any lawyers, BBB reps or federal agents to enter the store. And yes, you can be in charge of any department you want -- but you can only pick one! ;-)

Hmmm...I think I'll go for the "If you don't like it, shop somewhere else" department

what about the "Where there's not a smile in every isle!" motto (Lame Hy-Vee, grocery store commercial mockery)

just make sure the EULA is 500 pages long and completely ambiguous, but also gives the right to the owner of the store to remove any clothes from any particular customer without any question and at any given time

yeah...definately the "If you don't like it, shop somewhere else" department...mainly because I just had an asshole customer come in here and try and rape me on some money because he wanted to install the deck himself and wanted me to take the cost of the FREE install off of the deck...yeah...I said FREE install...asshat

Yes, Firefox is a FAR superior browser.

Automatic popup blocker, and the fact that you can get nifty ass skins that AREN'T a fucking hotbar, or whatever the hell the IE thing is called....
