What fun

Lis just left -- we spent the night reviewing for a genetics test she has to take tomorrow. It was rather quite fun. I like surprising her with the random facts that I know, and I know enough about genetics to keep her on her toes. I remember a lot of stuff from my GA and GP days, and I took a basic level biology course at SCSU that covered a lot of this stuff. She (obviously) knows it in much greater detail (being a biology major and all) than I do, but she's always shocked at the amount of seemingly random crap I remember. It was fun studying -- I miss school.

I've thought about going back to school, but there's just no good place to do it down here. There's UT, but that place is freaking huge. I refuse to go to a college that has more students enrolled than there are people in the nearest large city where I grew up. That's just insane! But none of the other schools around here have a master's program for computer science.

But I've also been thinking of going back to school just to take random classes. As much fun as that sounds, I just can't afford to do it (either cash-wise or time-wise). Plus, I'd never stop taking classes... ever. I'm just geeky enough that going to school for the rest of my life sounds like fun. :-P

All-in-all it was a nice night. The cat kept me sufficiently entertained. She's such a goofball. I also made a damn nice batch of cupcakes. MmmmMmMmMM. One of these days I'm going to wake up 400 lbs and wonder where I went wrong.. I just know it.

where you went wrong : pumpkin bars

I hear you on the school thing, I'm exactly the same way... I love hearing about people's homework and wish that I actually was back in school. Money is tight but there could be a possibility that my company would pay for the degree... it would be nice.

I didn't go wrong with pumpkin bars. Mom did. ;-) I've never even tried making them! lol! But the cupcakes turned out pretty awesome.

I've thought about asking my company to pay for further education, but I think they'd only do it if it was CS-related. And since there's no school around here that has a CS-related degree for me to get (aside from UT, which I still refuse to go to)...

Northern Texas has an AWESOME game development section ;)

Yeah, but north texas is also about 4+ hours away from where I live. ;-)
