I was browsing Jake's awesome blog today and I saw a really neat idea on there. You're supposed to list 100 things about yourself. Well, true to form, I'm stealing the idea and warping the shit out of it. Here's a list of 50 Things About My Cat. I am not doing 100 things because 50 random facts is plenty of crap to know about a cat.
- Her name is Pixel
- She got her name by watching my screen saver for 2+ hrs when I first got her
- She was a stray that I picked up during an ice storm in Austin
- She's a grey cat with little racoon-like stripes on her tail
- She's the most adorable cat in my world
- Pixel can balance on the top of a door frame (about 1 in thich) for hours
- She can jump to the top of the door frame (about 7 ft high) from the floor
- My kitty squeaks when you try to pick her up
- But she doesn't mind being held so long as it's only for short periods of time
- Her favorite toy(s) are peacock feathers that Lis brings home from the zoo
- She eats an entire bowl of food every three days (over the course of the three days, I don't just feed her twice a week!)
- Her favorite resting place is sitting on the backrest of the couch
- She never sleeps with me in my bed, but loves to sleep with Lis
- Her best feline friend is Lis' cat Miikka
- When she wants attention, she'll walk across my laptop keyboard and lay down on it until I pet her
- She makes a goofy squealing noise when she starts and stops running
- Pixel loves twisty-ties. Especially when she can bat them over to one of my shoes
- She loves laundry time because she gets to sit in the empty laundry basket
- Her favorite application is the Linux screen saver with a ball of yarn rolling around
- She likes techno music but doesn't like industrial music
- The thing she hates most in the world is her cat carrier
- She has no fleas
- Pixel is about two years old
- She has a little patch of white fur on the inside of her hind leg, and on her chest
- She likes to reach out a paw and rest it on my shoulder when she watches me code
- Her favorite cat food is Purina Indoor Cat Chow
- She eats her food and drinks her water out of two little wooden bowls from the 60s
- My cat will never have kittens
- She loves chasing flies or any other bug around the apartment
- She's never been stepped on
- When Pixel talks to me, she meows really loud. When she mumbles, it's a lot softer
- Everyone loves Pixel
- Pixel loves everyone. No, really. She likes people in general
- She knows that she can't be on certain pieces of furniture and usually won't go up on them (like the kitchen table, etc)
- That is... until I'm out of the house...
- Pixel is an indoor-only cat. She never gets to go outside unless I carry her there
- She's been in the snow once when there was a freak snow storm down here -- I brought her outside to see what she'd do. She didn't seem to like the snow too much
- She's never been around a dog before, but I bet she's try to be its friend if she did meet one
- Pixel is a bit dense sometimes -- you can just see it in her eyes
- She's one of the most loving animals I've ever seen
- Pixels other favorite human in the whole wide world (aside from me) is Elissa
- I've caught Pixel walking upright before (holding on to a swivel chair)
- My cat is afraid of my alarm clock (but then again, so am I)
- Pixel has no middle name, but her last name is Ballman
- Her nicknames are Pixie, Mixel, Goofball, Sugar Lumpkin FrooFroo Butt. Well, maybe not the last one...
- Pixel isn't allowed into the office space of my apartment
- Her favorite treats are pieces of summer sausage
- When she's naughty and gets scolded, she makes a pathetic meow and lays in the corner for at least five minutes before trying to be friendly again (cuz she knows she's been bad)
- She has little tufts of fur on the very tips of her ears -- it's so cute!!
- Pixel only has back claws
Some day I may enter in 100 things about myself (I prolly will since I get bored pretty easily), but until then, learning more than you ever wanted to know about my cat will just have to tide you over. Isn't useless information wonderful?
Awesome! It's great to see that you actually linked to my blog AND wrote all this neat stuff about your cat.
(hint: next time, use a specific permalink (URL) to a blog post, that creates trackbacks, which makes everyone go back and forth between blogs for more info)
::laughs:: I hope that I get to meet Pixel someday...even though I'm allergic to her =o)
There you go Jake -- it's a permalink now. Hopefully it works, if not, lemme know. And don't worry Lou -- I'm sure you will meet her.
No pictures? You know, a picture is worth at least 20 random facts.
Aww, I really need to meet your cat sometime. I need to plan a road trip down to texas!
I'm sure you two would get along swimmingly. She loves people and you love cats. Seems like a good combination for you two to be friends. :-D
