Activities for the Day

Today was a rather fun day. I slept in, which was really nice. Got up, got ready and went to pick up my cousin Maggie from SCSU. She came and joined mom & dad for lunch. We had brisket! MMmmMmMMm that's some good food! We sat and watched the Vikings win (for once), which was also pretty cool! :-) After BSing for a while, I took Maggie back into the house and came home.

Then it was time to put up Christmas lights with dad. We both went up and put lights up all around the house, just like we do every year. It was a lot of fun hanging them -- it's just a happy memory for me. Then I wandered over to the neighbor's house to help out with some computer issues. 40 spy/malware issues and 9 viruses later, things should be back to normal on their computer. ;-)

Now I'm hanging out around the house until Lou gets off work. Then, who knows! I have no idea what I really want to do tonight. Heh.

I wrote my first .NET "application" today as well! Wahoo for Hello World (but it was a GUI application, not a console app), so I'm stoked about that. Amazon told me that my book would be coming and that they refunded my shipping costs. Perhaps they don't seem to understand that my package hasn't budged since it was sent out.. :: sighs :: oh well, midway thru next week I plan on emailing them again to continue to complain... we'll see I guess!

software developer goes on vacation...
software developer goes home for vacation...
software developer remembers why he left home when he gets 100 gazillion calls from relatives to fix their computer...
software developer tries 100 gazillion times to explain that software development != computer hardware repair...
software developer takes his FPS too seriously and ends up purchasing a real gun over vacation...
...

hehe

I don't mind fixing Darrin's computer -- he gives me bear/deer/duck/pheasant/squirrel/rabbit/moose/etc meat, and Vikki cuts my hair if I ask. So we all win in that situation. :-)

Hey! What's wrong with the haircut I gave you? ;)
