Kingdom Hearts

So I did something this weekend that I haven't done in ages -- I spent almost the entire weekend playing a video game.

About 8 months ago, I started playing a game called Kingdom Hearts (by SquareSoft and Disney) -- got about 5 minutes into the game and was distracted by something shiny. I put that game down to play other games (Disgaea, Castlevania, NHL 2004 come to mind). Well, this weekend I pulled it back out again and decided to give it a serious shot.

Holy Hell. It's not often that I get enthralled with a game to the point that I play it for 12+ hours in two days time. It's actually a rather entertaining game. I didn't think I would like it too muh since it combines Final Fantasy characters (and a lot of them came from FF X, which was a huge letdown of a game IMHO) and Disney characters. It's a weird combination, but oddly enough, it works.

The one thing that I am hoping for, but know will never happen, is to meet Terra (FF 3) or Cecil (FF 2) or Rydia (FF 2). That would make the game totally own!

So if you have a PS 2, and even have a marginal interest in RPGs, I would suggest renting this to see how you like it. I can imagine some people really not enjoying it, while others loving the hell out of it.

My only gripe with the game is that it's tending towards hack-n-slash too much sometimes. That, and I'm too stupid to build a decent spaceship. :-P

What the hell do you need a spaceship for?

Well, I already met a nice girl who's name is Elissa. But nice girls don't preclude me from playing a video game.

Lou -- you need a spaceship to get from world to world (each world is a different stage of the game)

I understand now...ok...cool

Final Fantasy Tactics, the only FF game worth anything

No ways, Tactics SUCKED. Final Fantasy II and III were the best games ever. EVA.
