So I got up this morning, and what do I find? A ton of fog. Oh goodie, a nice long drive to work for Aaron. ;-)
Actually, taffic was a breeze going down Southwest Parkway, which I was kind of surprised about. But when I got up to MoPac, I realized that people weren't going anywhere anytime soon. But!!! It only took an extra 10 minutes to get into work, so I was pleasantly surprised. Traffic moved faster when people can't see the car in front of them than it does with a light drizzle. Go figure! Oh well, I won't complain -- it went faster than expected.
I finally got around to fixing my little comment spam problem. All of UT wasn't allowed to access anything on aaronballman.com (including the main site and the blog) due to some asshat posting about 15 messages in a few minutes. But, there are a at least a few legitimate people who come here from UT, and it would suck to throw the baby out with the bathwater. So I came up with a nice compromise; anyone can view the site again. But if people from UT try to post comments, their posts are thrown into the comment moderation queue. This means that the auto-accept feature for comments on new posts doesn't apply to people from UT -- so if you're one of those people, don't be surprised if you comment and it doesn't show up for a few hours. I'll try to keep on top of moderations as best I can! But this way, when someone comment spams me from UT (or anywhere, really), I don't have to bother deleting the posts. I think it's a fair compromise. Of course, I still have to fix it so that whenever a comment is moderated, I get a notification. Right now it's just guesswork. :-P
On today's plate at work -- more testing. And I'm probably going to get started on either the preferences dialog or the file tempaltes dialog. I can't figure out which one I'd rather work on since I'm not too enamoured with either of them. ;-) Bleh, dialog tweaking. At least I can use REALbasic to lay the dialogs out! Dialog tweaking used to be hell since it was all done in C++....
Update -- I just had to setup the admin_email option to get my notifications properly. So now I'm all set. w00t!
