New Release!

There's a new release of the Wallpaper Changer. You can find the source code here, and the actual executable here.

New to this release:

  • Changed taskbar icon to something slightly better

  • Only showing the preferences window on startup if it was the first run for the application.

  • Can now be launched when Windows starts up

  • Added an about box

One of the neat new features of this release is the about box (strange, but true!). It pulls the change log from a resource file that's embedded in the application itself. It was pretty cool to figure out how to do that, so I ended up writing another blog post about it while I'll post later. Enjoy the new release! Feel free to hand me ideas for the next release. Also, if you want to make a better icon, feel free. ;-)

one quick thing that would be sweet...put a picture box on the form so you can preview the image when highlighted...probably 3 lines of code

Shoot, I knew I was missing something. Just added it to the ToDo list. Thanks!

That wasn't hard to do at all. I added that, and another few small features, as well as a couple of bug fixes. Hopefully I'll have another release ready for next week. I think it's getting to the point where I think it deserves a spot on my main webpage!
