I had a good weekend. Friday night was a laid back night because I was exhausted. So I finally got to catch up on some sleep Sat and Sun. It was nice!
On Sat, I got together with Lis and we went hiking in Blunn (?) Creek Preserve. It's really close to where Lis lives (only about 4 blocks away) and is a really pretty park. The trails were decently maintained, but there was almost no one on them. We only saw one other person during our two hour hike. I got a handful of pictures with my new digital camera which I'll post sometime this week. We saw a gorgeous grey fox (an old one at that -- he was pretty big), and I found an Indian arrowhead (though I think it may be a spearhead, it looks almost too large for an arrow). It was a great time! The weather was awesome -- it was about 60 degrees and sunny out.
I slept in on Sunday. Mmmm. Then Lis and I went hiking at Wild Basin (down 360, a little ways past work). I didn't enjoy this place as much as Blunn Creek because Wild Basin was a bit more commercialized. They had signs posted along the way telling you what sort of things you were looking at, we saw a lot of other people, etc. Not that I don't like knowing what plants, rocks and wildlife are around! I just wasn't expecting it. It was a bit chillier out too, around 50 I'd guess. We saw some pretty cedar waxwings while hiking though, so that was cool. I started feeling kinda ill partway thru the hike, so that may have jaded my opinion a bit too. :-P
After the hike we went bowling with some friends. We only bowled one game because people were running late, but that's ok. Bowling is still bowling. :-) I had an overly crappy game (compared to how I normally bowl), but I still managed to get the high score. I think everyone was having an off-night... I only got a 103. :-P
It was a fun, but busy, weekend. I'm looking forward to spending a few evenings relaxing and lounging this week so I can catch up on reading, video games and other nerdy things. :-D
yeah...I need to do laundry ::laughs::...glad to know that you had a good time this weekend and I can't wait to see the pictures.
Sounds like a good weekend. And if 50 is cold, then I guess 33 below must be downright fucking freezing.
I can tell you that it's certainly not pleasant!
luv and pickles,
jesse!
I've seen fuel freeze in busses when I lived there darlin -- I know how cold it gets. The thing is... I really don't mind the cold.
Dude...got a call back today for the Engineering Technician for the Metallurgical place, and I have an interview this wednesday
You're crazy for liking the cold. I'll swap you locations any day!
luv and pickles,
jesse!
Congrats Lou! I told you they'd wanna hire you. :-) Good luck on the interview! And Jess -- you're crazy -- you don't know what heat can do to your brain. Look at me! It melted mine. ;-)
Oh yeah, and to be pendantic, it was in the 50s on Sat, 40s on Sun, and not all Texans consider that to be "cold" weather. Lis wanted me to correct myself on that one. :-)
