AI has always been a topic I've been interested in. When I was at SCSU, I ended up doing a Master's project with a friend of mine (she was the Master's student, but I got plenty of undergrad credit for my part) which covered artificial life. We simulated bee colonies (their day-to-day life, mating, generations, etc), and the project involved many different aspects of AI. From the obvious stuff like how bees "behave" to how mating selection and resource chosing occurs. It was a really fun project and I ended up doing most of the programming for it. It also has given me a fairly solid background in how to tackle AI concepts.
So I decided today that I wanted to learn about neural networks. I've heard of them, and seen very simple examples. I've also read some very basic beginner articles on the topic. But I've never really done anything with it. So I'm going to be writing a neural network class (in REALbasic) sometime in the near future to get my feet wet. I have a project in mind that's going to use one, but I figure I should become very familiar with nets before I try to tackle a project that relies heavily on them.
I'll post my observations and code snippets as the learning project progresses.
I sat down and played MegaMan last night (after getting my controller, and some awesome clearance kitchen items from Target!), and it's been a fun game so far. I forgot how big of a PITA MegaMan 1 is, so I started out on MegaMan 3 instead. :-P I played until way too late last night though, so I'm paying for it today.
Man, the weather has been downright strange this year. The Gulf of Mexico has gotten more snow than Minnesota, there were tornados in LA, and now the temps in Texas went from 80 yesterday (strangely warm) to about 35 today (kinda cold, but closer to normal). Weird! Because it was 80 yesterday, I had the AC going in the apt. And this morning I woke up very cold. Very. Cold. Doh! So the heat's on now... ;-)
Time to get back to fixing bugs! The beauty of brand-new development...
It's also how Iowa is getting dumped with snow and we still have a small amount of frozen stuff thats been there for a few weeks
Well I didn't know if you would be able to fix it or not...actually I think it's a hostile virus because my virus scanner picks it up and deletes it, but it comes back...because whenever I start my computer MS Office starts up with some crap symbols on it and then it says "which means the less shit I have to write" and then there are a few more symbols and then when I try to access the internet it brings me straight to a spyware site, and won't let me go anywhere else...so yeah...let me know what you think.
You're so geeky, but you're awesome:)
Dude!!! I'm wireless! Ha. I'm just so excited about that!
luv and pickles,
jesse!
Yes yes, I am a hopeless geek -- but people would be confused if I was any other way. :-)
