So as I sit and watch yet another Vikings game, I can't help but think -- man, these guys suck. Seriously, in a battle between the Vikings and a high school football team, I'd lay odds on the high school team. The Vikes used to have one of the best defenses in the game. I remember the days when our defense would actually outscore our offense! Now, our defense is one of the worst in the league. And don't even get me started on our offensive line! I just witnesses 3 sacks in 4 plays. They might as well not even have shown up today.
I think what the Vikings need is a swift kick to the nuts from Mike Tice. Seriously. Every time someone messes up hard core (like three freaking sacks in four plays!), he should wind up and boot them in the nuts. I think it'd only take a few of those to motivate the Vikings players to not suck so much.
Most of the season, I've been hoping the Vikes make it into the playoffs. We've got the offensive talent with Moss, Williams, Smith, et al to do well, after all. But now... I don't want to see us get into the playoffs. We don't deserve it -- we can barely play a football game against a crappy team like the Redskins. It'll be embarrassing to see us play against a playoff team.
So, to make a long story longer -- I am very disappointed in my football team. I used to have faith in them, and they used to make me proud. But after watching this game (which is still in the 3rd quarter, and the Redskins only have a 4 point lead), I really am losing heart in these guys. They play slop ball and win games on luck.
Only time will tell how they fare in the post season, if they manage to get there. But I'm not a fair-weather fan -- I'll be rooting for my Vikes the whole way! Just complaining while cheering. ;-)
You could go my route every year with...eh...they'll blow it.
That's why I'm a Dolphins fan. I never expect them to win!

LoL @ Lou -- that's pretty true, they do go into "prevent the win" defense mode quite often. As for liking the Dolphins... I gotta stay true to my state, so the Vikes are it.
I'm probably the worst Minnesota fan...I even say "eh...they'll blow it" to the twins...not a huge supporter of Minnesota sports...cept maybe for Husky Hockey, and the Wild.
Which is too bad, cuz the Twins are actually a pretty solid team. They had a rough few years while building up with their new talent, but they've become contenders. The Wild will always rock IMHO. I don't give one rat's ass about the T-Wolves because I think basketball is a waste of space (and it fucks with the hockey rinks!). As for the Huskies.... they shall rule the world.
