I came into work today and ended up staying about 8 hrs. Well, that's the plan at least -- I'm still at the office trying to fix up a "few" last minute issues before I go home. I got about 10 of the bug reports from people fixed today, so it's been a productive day of work. And no, I didn't fix only the bugs I reported. :-P
I wasn't planning to spend my entire day here. I do have more important personal things to take care of, like Final Fantasy II. I'm to the part where I just got my first airship from Cid and I need to go to Toria to get their crystal back. You'd think with how important these damn trinkets are they wouldn't let a Dark Elf just waltz into the castle and steal the damn thing!
But seriously... I am looking at home layouts currently. Dad found me a pretty good financial deal for building a house in the St Augusta area. That's just outside of St Cloud on the south end of town. It's about 5 minutes away from I 94, so I'd have easy access to get to just about any place in the state. Of course... come to think of it...I can't remember if there's a grocery store within 20 minutes of St Augusta. LoL, I'll have to check on that. ;-) But I'm looking over various house plans to see which one I like the best, and I may end up putting a hold on one of the lots this week. The area is growing really fast, which means the house will appreciate in value pretty quickly. I'm hoping to have the house about 5 years and then build something a little more to my taste instead of a starter home. I'll keep everyone up to date on what's going on with this major decision. :-)
I find the current rumblings on the betas list really funny. All the Mac users are complaining about how the new IDE feels too Windows-ish for them. I was just complaining this week that the Windows IDE feels too Mac-ish for me. :-P I think a lot of the people who are complaining aren't taking enough time to actually use the IDE to see what they like and don't like about it. They compare it strictly to the old UI and anything that's different is bad (which is basically everything). Personally, I hated the old UI on Windows. It was clunky, took up way too much screen real estate, and constantly got in my way. The new UI is awesome in comparison. And it's really not a Windows concept -- when it was designed it was modelled after Safari and FireFox. We wanted to go with the web browser UI because it's a concept that most everyone is already familiar with, can learn easily, and makes sense for an IDE. Oh well.... we'll see how it all pans out in the end. Hopefully people like the new IDE as much as I do -- I've been putting enough damn work into it! ;-)
Well, I'm going to fix that one last annoying issue and then take off. I hope everyone's having a good weekend!
When I saw the new REALbasic 2005 IDE I was blown away. It looks like a great update to me, but then I'm a huge fan of tabbed web browsers.
Glad to hear it! :-)
Oh, and did I say 8 hours? It ended up being 9 -- but I got a lot of stuff done! :-)
