What Happened?

I don't get it. Penny Arcade has been down for the last few days! I seem to recall hearing that they were getting new hardware to run their web comic on, but this is just scary. I'm going thru withdrawls. :-P

Today's been a long day of stupid, horrible mistakes.

I started the day of by realizing a major issue with remote debugging was the fact that I was calling App.DoEvents. From a thread. Bad Aaron! No biscuit! So after beating myself up for doing exactly what I tell others not to do, I fixed that issue only to figure out that I can't remote debug to the Mac... Why? Because the compiler renames the file I tell it to build! Yeesh! So after working around that nasty issue... I find out (from William) that the reason the StatusBar isn't displaying any text is because 0x400 + 11 != 0x411. :: hangs head :: I can't even do simple hex math today! So after changing that to 0x40B things start magically working again. And finally!!! With Jon's keen eye, we figured out why the encrypted item support wasn't loading up old projects -- it was because the new Blowfish implementation was calculating the length of the initializer string wrong. After all that jazz, things are finally working better (I also took care of some annoyances such as the lack of proper cursor feedback, and the splitters having those damned little dots on them in Windows) and I'm in a bit better of a mood. But earlier today I didn't have too much nice to say because my day was sucking.

The plan tonight is to swing by Chipotle (haven't had lunch yet even), grab some burritos and watch a movie with Elissa.

Time to relax!

Oh, and your fix for removing app.doevents along with fetching the splash screen was causing that other crash. It seems that you and Joe couldn't see it because you hadn't fetched Joe's splash screen, and Joe hadn't fixed your EasyTCPSocket/UDPSocket. Bizarre.

Wait, are you telling me that *removing* App.DoEvents caused a crash because of Joe's splash screen? That makes no sense to me... I guess I'll have to see it tomorrow.

Figures -- just after I make my post, Penny Arcade is brought back online. LoL
