What I've Learned from Final Fantasy

  • All females and musicians are weak. The women heal the men, but sometimes they have awesome spells which makes them worthwhile. However, musicians are always worthless.
  • Swapping color palettes makes a whole new monster that's weak against one of the main elements (fire, water, etc).
  • You're the only person in the entire world interested in collecting the treasures strewn throughout the land in convenient little boxes.
  • Every time you think you've beaten the bad guy, another one pops up in his place.
  • Bad guys always have evil sounding names. You'll never meet a bad guy named John, Mike or Loveflower.
  • Airships are the most advanced form of transportation.
  • Unimportant people repeat themselves after you've talked to them a few times.
  • Someone always has green, blue or purple hair.
  • Never attack an egg. It'll hatch and kick your ass.
  • You're really lucky to always start the game off in an area with weak monsters. Just think how hard it would be if you stared off somewhere towards the end of the game.
  • All castles are symmetrical.

and if you want to, you can always just save and take a time out... only to continue your life the next time you get bored...

ohh ohh.. and
you can always save the same game multiple times to take different paths in your life...

LoL, there are just some creatures you can't run away from. I had to fight a Behemoth last night because I couldn't run away from him. Beat him though. :-)

Oh yeah, and another thing! No one minds when you walk into their house unannounced and start yammering at them, much less you searching their shelves and taking what you find.

You're constantly getting attacked by monsters all over the place. Except for these random spots on the ground, designated by an "S" or something shiny. These magic spots make you invincible... and they do this why? Wouldn't it be worth your time to figure out a way to make those portable... Or at least, stopping to ask yourself how they got there? Maybe the same people leaving their treasures in boxes for you made these little safe havens....

Still have yet to play an FF game, so this just applies to rpgs in general:

The shop in the next town will almost always have better weapons and armor than the shop in the town you're currently in.

Monsters always carry gold on them. So when you beat them, you get their gold!

But running away from them means you drop it, which they kindly pick up and take with them since you can never go back and pick it up after the fact!
