Awww

Lis and I had a little get-together last night to celebrate her birthday and my going away. Jennifer and her fiance Aaron, Rachel, Lis' friend Areen and I all went bowling at Westgate lanes. Sadly, we only bowled one game, but it was still fun! Then we went out to eat at the Landing (or the boat dock or something like that), and the food really wasn't that great for how much you paid, but we still had fun. Lis got a hilarious gift from Rachel -- it was awesome (it's a lamp that changes colors, and .... well, I'll just let Elissa describe it if you care to know. :-P). After dinner, we all headed over to Elissa's to eat some cake. I didn't have any because I'm not too big on chocolate and this thing was 100% pure chocolate. :-P But everyone else seemed to enjoy it.

For all my griping about what went wrong, the night really was a lot of fun. It was great seeing my friends again for one last hurrah before I leave Texas. It was also nice meeting Areen -- I've heard a bunch about him from Elissa because they have so many classes together.

But I must admit, I'm kinda sad. I'm really going to miss the friends I made down here, especially Rachel -- she was with when Elissa and I went out on our first date, so we've been friends for a long time now. Even though I have so much to look forward to with moving back to Minnesota, it's still hard to leave all the good things I have in Texas behind. At least there's still "teh internets" -- I can still keep in touch with everyone pretty easily. But it's still not the same as hearing a Your Mom joke in person while Elissa rolls her eyes at us. :-P

Lis and I are going out to Ink's Lake again today. We're going to pick up some fishing equipment and fish from shore. It should be fun -- I hope the weather holds for us, it looks like it could go either way. I'm bringing the camera along again, so hopefully there'll be some pictures of fish. :-D

Tomorrow I finish packing the apartment. Yeesh!
