Got Some Packing Done

I did get a decent chunk of stuff done last night on the apartment. I got two more boxes of junk packed away -- mostly things like kitchen supplies, vases, etc. And I took everything down off my walls and filled all the holes with spackling. Now my apartment looks very empty and lonely. I was feeling kinda down because of the lack of decoration in my apt, so I convinced Elissa to come over and hang out for a bit. We went to the store, picked up good snacks and had hot fudge sundae ice cream! It was nummy, and also a lot of fun. I'm glad she came over, it made me happier.

We're thinking of going thrift store shopping today. Yay deals! :-D And tomorrow we may go to Hamilton Pools outside of Austin for another hike -- but that depends on the weather. Hopefully we'll get to go though.

More bids are coming in on the house. That means I can start figuring out what things I'm going to do myself in terms of labor, as well as what stuff I can just trim out for the time being. For example, I don't need a water softener for 800$ when I can buy one for 500$ and install it myself. It looks like I'm going to be doing my own: waterproofing, sheetrocking (but perhaps not the ceilings), trim work (baseboards, casements and doors), kitchen/dining room floor, and perhaps painting. A fair amount of work, but it's all spaced out since none of it gets done at the same time. We'll see what final set I figure on.

Your apt is looking so sad. It's so depressing to see someone I love packing all their stuff I've seen around for the last year and a half. I feel like opening all your boxes and flinging stuff back into your apt. Don't worry though, I'll be good.

I know what you mean sweetpea. It is sad...

How are you getting all your stuff back to MN?
