The moving company came yesterday. I was woken up to a phone call at 7am saying "they'll be there today between 8 and 10", so I got up and got ready to face the movers a little early -- no big whoop. Then about 10:30-11am I get a call saying "how do you like your service?" Why, just fine -- since they've yet to show up. The woman makes some confused noises and says "I'll call you back." Okie dokie. She calls back and says "they'll be there soon, they're just finishing up another site." Sounds good.
At about 3pm I call her back and say "they do know that I'm moving TO minnesota, not FROM it, right?" I didn't really say that, but I wanted to. :-P She called the driver and told me "he's on his way." Uh huh. Riiiiight.
3:30pm they showed up. Eh, that's 10am enough I guess. :-P They worked for about 2 hours loading all my stuff up. Man the apartment got empty in a hurry! 3 years to collect all this crap and 2 hours to haul it all away. ;-) They were all pretty nice guys -- very efficient at what they do.
Just as they were leaving, they asked if they could use the bathroom. Sure, fine whatever. The last guy comes out and says "sorry, the toliet overflowed" and leaves. Um... hey assholes -- YOU PACKED ALL THE STUFF I NEED TO CLEAN UP AFTER YOU! Yeah, I wasn't too happy. So I called the apt office and let them know I'd need someone to come out and fix things since I don't have any towels or stuff like that to clean with. Of all the timing! Yeesh!
I went out to dinner with Elissa -- we went to the Golden Corral. It was really good food, but damn there were some hillbillies in there! The woman at the table next to us (with three kids) just mentioned that tomorrow is a good day for her -- her one year probation is up. Oh goodie. And I saw another woman walk by with something like 8 kids, from babies to about 8 yrs old. :: shudders ::
It's really sad seeing the apartment so empty. Pixel is being pretty chill about it though -- she's just been laying around, probably wondering where we're going this time (she's moved 2 times with me already).
I leave for MN tomorrow morning... wow.
