All sorts of crazy things to talk about today.
Wed morning I saw a woman driving the wrong way down 360. She was heading right at me, and my sleepy-ass was wondering "why are all the cars diving off to the side of the road, and what the hell is she doing?" I moved.
Wed night was drinking, of course. Nothing new to report there.
Thur was my little mini-vacation day. I got the truck tuned up and ready for the trip back to MN. Cashed some checks. Little errands like that. Then I packed. I got the entertainment center, huge desk and pantry all packed up. I'm getting down to the odds-and-ends stuff now. The only big packing related stuff left is tearing down the bed and unhooking the washer and drier. Stuff like that. But it's getting there!
I've gotten most of the bids back on the house. The current house estimate is $185,600 for the house. Which isn't bad since we're figuring it to appraise around $235,000 -- a $50,000 profit margin if I turned around and sold the house after building it is not a bad deal. :-)
The plan for the house is this: I get back to MN on the 30th (assuming no horrible weather hits along the way), I close on the construction loan by May 3rd, the hole gets dug within a day of closing (hopefully same day if we can close in the morning) and I'm out waterproofing the foundation on Thur and the weekend (there's two different waterproofing "sessions"; one for the footings and the other for the block wall). Once the block wall is up, the rough-up framers come in and I have a little breather while I line up the other subs. Phew, things move fast!
I'm excited to play tennis with my cousin Maggie (she's a really good tennis player), racquetball with Adam and Doug, bowling with Scott (et al), fishing with dad and 40 oz curls with friends. :-)
I'm sad about leaving Elissa, the gorgeous TX springs, mockingbirds, hiking in Hill Country and all the things I love about Texas.
I'm going bowling tonight with Elissa and a bunch of our friends. It's a bday celebration/going away party (strange combination). Then tomorrow, Lis and I are going to go fishing out at Ink's Lake! I'm excited, maybe I'll catch a bass (I've always wanted to go bassing down in the south since this is where all the lunkers live) or a catfish (One of the few freshwater fish I've never caught before). :-D
Work on RB 2005 is humming along. We're getting down to the final lists of things to fix. Each of us takes a handful of items, works on one until it's fixed, and then moves on to the next one. Hopefully a new beta will be going out soon with a lot of the good fixes in it. No clue how soon it'll go out though.
Man, I still have to pack everything from my office. Oops! Almost forgot about that. Heh
Are you renting a UHAUL? We'll have to get together some day. Sounds like you're going to be busy, too!
Naw, I'm driving myself, the cat and some of my own stuff in the pickup. I'm having a moving company pick the rest of my stuff up -- just too much crap to haul across country. :-P
What's a lunker? I have no idea, but I hope it likes hotdogs!!
A lunker is a big fish. And I hope all the fish like hotdogs! :-P
