Surreal

Yesterday was my last day at the office. It was really sad, and strange. The morning started out just like any other. I got to the office, sat down, started coding. Then it got on towards lunch time, and we were all going to lunch as a company. Stacie (and her son Evan) joined us for lunch at Central Market and we all took a long lunch and had a bunch of fun. After lunch, I sat and talked to Stacie in the parking lot for a while and we said our goodbyes. It was really sad... Evan was *so* adorable (he just turned two this past weekend) because he was all pouty and sad that I was leaving.

Then I got back in the office, did a small amount of programming, and realized that I needed to backup all of my data and finish packing the office. So pretty soon my office was empty aside from the boxes of stuff I was bringing home with me. Nothing on the walls.... It was very empty and sad. So I wandered into Dave's office and BSed with him for a while, until it was time to start playing my last game of 4-square. Most of us played (William couldn't because he's sick with the plauge, as is Gwen, who stayed home) for about an hour. Then Mike, Jason, Dave and I carried stuff down from the office to the truck and said our goodbyes.

It's really strage because it felt like I was quitting the job (since I was saying goodbye to everyone and packing all my things from the office) even though I am going to keep working with everyone. It certainly made for an odd-feeling day.

Elissa came out to dinner with me at Fuddrucker's and then we sat at her apt and talked for a long while. I got home about 9pm and continued on my packing quest. About midnight I finished with all my packing (or so I believe!) and got a start on my cleaning. The kitchen counters, sink and stove are fairly well cleaned (may need a once-over before I leave though), and the porch is swept. I figure I'll finish cleaning after the movers come and take all my stuff today.

Man... things sure are moving quickly!

Sorry I wasn't there! I realized last night that I wasn't going to see you before at the office before you left.

*goes and takes Aaron's office* ;) (Only kidding... for now :P)

Yeah, sorry I missed you as well! You're welcome to the office -- just treat her well. :-D
