Yesterday was Elissa's 21st birthday. Everyone should sing to her. ;-)
I got off work at 6, went to Chipotle and picked us up some birthday dinner and headed over to her apt. I ended up averaging about 10 mph on the way over because it was drizzling while sunny out (which confuses people down here, so they park their cars on the road when it happens). Got to Lis', sat down to eat and watch some Lost. Unfortunately, it was a rerun! Le suck! But the food was still good.
We hung out for a litle bit, and then headed down to the bars. Mmm.. bars.
We started off at the Gingerman with its wonderful wall of beer taps. We had a Shiner there, sat outside and BSed (the drizzle had stopped, thankfully) for a while. Then off we went in search of more booze. We walked down 6th and stopped in at Maggie Maes. Had the most expensive and worst tasting gin and tonic of my life -- 10$ for two small G&T's. But whatever, it's still booze. :-P We hightailed it out of there after our drink because I wanted to take Lis to the Daquri Factory.. but sadly, it's closed now! Lol, oops. So we wandered down to the Vibe, paid our 5$ cover (cuz it was her bday, we both didn't have to pay the 7$, just 5$ for each of us!) to support NORML (the legalize pot people). The guy at the bar gave Lis a free shot, which she promptly dumped on my pants. :-P Then Lis had a tequilla sunrise and I had a screwdriver -- outdoors we went. There was a reggae band playing on the stag behind the Vibe. They were really good, but they were all white -- it was strange. :-P We sat outside for a while, until I got Lis a hurricane from the bar. I bet we spent 1.5 hrs at the Vibe just chillin and getting our drink on.
Needless to say, Lis was trashed. I had to pretty much hold her up on the way to the truck. But hey, that's the way a 21st bday should be! :-D I, on the other hand, wasn't even buzzed. LoL, how sad is that? However, I was damn tired because of lack of sleep the night before.
We had a blast last night -- it was a ton of fun going out! I took today off from work because I had a bunch of errands to take care of and I knew I'd be out late drinking. ;-) I had the truck tuned up for the trip back to MN next week. And the rest of my day is going to be spent packing -- le suck again! Oh well, it's gotta get done some time.
I find it completely bizarre that the drinking age in the US is 21! My girlfriend refuses to go back until we're 21, otherwise she spends all day drinking the bottom out of the mini bar in the hotel!
