I was having a discussion with some people from work the other day, and the topic came up about Arkansas and what the people who live there call themselves. For example, I'm from Minnesota, so I'm Minnesotan. Elissa is a Texan from Texas. What exactly do you call someone from Arkansas? Because "Arkansasan", "Arkansaser", etc all sounded goofy.
Arkansan.
You have to drop the last 's' and replace it with an 'n', just like you do with Texas and Texan.
Seemed so complicated at the time... lol
Same with Kansas -- Kansan.
Someone call the Iowan? :)
lol. Like I've said before, you think too much.
People who live in Seattle are called Seattleites; this amused me as a kid because it sounded so close to "sattelites". But if you want a real challenge, try these place-names: Enumclaw, Poulsbo, Sequim, Puyallup....
Enumclawinite
Poulsbon
Sequiminer
Puyalluper
Those're my guesses an' I'm stickin' to 'em! :-P
I was camping in Idaho some years ago and a friend of mine asked me if I knew any "Idahodians". We like it so much we decided to rename Idaho to Idahodio...
not sure if the locals will ever use it but we like it and have been using it ever since!
Arkansanian???
