So I finally got to go out fishing today -- can you believe it? It took me almost three weeks to get out on a lake! Yeesh! So dad and I went to Rice Lake (just south of Richmond) about 3:30 today to see if we could catch something.
I saw:
- Pelicans
- Kingfishers
- Canadian Geese
- Red Tailed Hawk
- Turkey
- Purple Martins
- Swallows
- Mallards
- Blue Herons
I also didn't catch a single fish (and neither did dad). We stayed out until about 8pm. No one on the lake was catching anything that we could see (or hear when talking to people). Oh well, it was still a great day to be out on the lake and spend some time with dad.
We're thinking of going out again tomorrow if the weather cooperates. We'll see!
I hear those martins are hard to catch.
I haven't seen one in a long time, but they were pretty easy to spot on the lake. They're the same shape as a swallow, but a little big larger and darker. Pretty little buggers!
Hey. Shelli and I are gonna go to JPs on Tuesday night for a few drinks. You and Louie are more then welcome to come visit for a while. I know that you guys haven't seen Shelli in a while.
