Progress on the House

Each time I head out to the job site (for whatever reason), I am going to bring my digital camera along so that I can have a history of the house being built. I'm labeling each picture by date so that I can look back at it and go "gee, what was I thinking?" :-D

You can find the new house pictures here. I'll be updating it as I get more pictures, so feel free to check back if you're interested.

I've been chasing, and man am I tired! I played racquetball last night with Adam, Abe and Doug. Man, that was fun! It's been a while since I've played, so I was feeling a little out of shape. But we played four games (I won three, lost one) and I managed to get my bad toe to bleed (and it hurts like a mofo today). We had a few beers at Adam's after we played, and then I came home and slept.

Had to get up at 6am this morning. I'm not certain how people function so damned early. But... I had to be out on the job site at 7am to meet with my masonry subcontractor. Dad took off from the house a little before I did (he had some running he wanted to do first). I took off and managed to get stuck behind a school bus. Bleh! So I got out to the site at 7:03am, and Dean had just left. LoL, 3 minutes late and he's already gone. :-P Dad talked to him though and we got everything all straightened out. Then we walked over and talked to my framer (named "Whitey") for a little while as well.

Next on my list of home stuff to deal with is heading out to Ron's cabinet shop so I can look at cabinetry and stuff like that. Mom and I are going to chase out there today sometime, and possibly into Avon to check out some stuff as well.

You know you're living back in a small town when... I ran to the store yesterday to pick up some groceries and I had to ask someone at the deli where the tortillas were (the "ethnic food section" was the answer. LOL!). Well, I ran into her today when I went back for milk (ran out last night) and she said "Hi guy from Texas!" She remembered who I was -- something that never really happened to me when I was living in Austin. LoL, it was strange, but in a good way.

Well, I'm exhausted (and it's not even noon yet!), so I think I am going to take a quick nap before chasing more. Hope all is well with everyone!

Yes, and you're also a crazy SOB. :-P

Blech. I agree. 7 a.m. is SO EARLY.
