...I met one of the largest assholes I've had to deal with in a long time.
So we got done sheetrocking the livingroom ceiling about 9:30pm last night. It ended up being dad, myself, Adam, Andrea and Lou (and I appreciate the hell out of all of them showing up to help since it made things go so much faster). Lou and I were going to be meeting Jess, Shelli, Toya (and others) at JPs at 10pm because it was Toya's 21st birthday.
So I was starving, and I knew that JP's kitchen was closed at 10, and there was no way we'd make it into JPs in time. So Lou and I stopped off at Taco John's in Sauk Rapids to grab some food. We were just going to bring it in the bar, scarf it down, and begin our evening of drinking. And before you go and say, "what? bring your own food to a bar! How horrible!", you should keep in mind 1) Their kitchen was closed, 2) I've yet to be at a bar in central MN that didn't let you bring food in once they stopped serving food.
So we got in there (I had some tacos, Lou just grabbed a pop) and not even a minute after sitting down, the manager walked up to us and started swearing at us to "get the hell out" of his bar. Told us he didn't want us to come back, what do we think this is, a fucking McDonalds, etc. I was apalled. If he has a problem with me eating in his bar, then fine -- just say "hey, take it outside. We don't want you bringing your own food in here." I'm cool with that sort of a response. But walking up, not evening asking us to leave, but demanding that we get out of his bar -- he was a total ass and way out of line.
So we took our party and left -- went to Benton Station where the owner isn't a cock goblin. I had a really good time, even though it was damned hot in the bar. Played pool with Jess again -- she trounced me on two games, but I won the last one. I stayed there until about 1am, then I came home. Oh yeah, and if I had to guess, I'd say that JP's lost about 40$ just from Jess, Shelli, Lou and I -- no clue how much more they lost from Toya and her group of friends. And I won't ever step foot in there again. All because the owner doesn't understand civility. I don't mind owning up when I'm wrong, but I also won't support a bar where the owner treats people like that. And if you live in central MN, hopefully you won't support them either.
So the plan for tonight is..... more sheetrocking! Adam, Andrea, dad and I will be out there (Lou and Dan can't make it), and hopefully we'll get the kitchen and maybe even part of the dining room done tonight. It'll be nice to have the ceilings done since that means we can start on the walls soon. And doing the walls means that we don't have to scurry up and down the scaffolding so much.
So, what about our Group Nights?!?!?! Toya works at JPs. Man, what a predicament.
And I got totally TRASHED again. I'm gonna start bleeding beer soon. I'll talk to you later and let you know what's going on for your royal ass kicking next time. Bwahaha!
I was thinkin we could find a new bar. Sucks about Toya though! Perhaps we could try Howie's downtown next week?
And you won't kick me that easy! I'm getting better, slowly but surely!
I'll talk to The Group and let you know:) Do you know if they have a Happy Hour type thing?
Pretty certain they do. Their drinks have always been reasonable (after JD Beamer's shutdown, Howie's became my favorite bar). I'll double check to see when happy hour and such is. Lemme know what The Group says. :-)
Alrighty. I'll check with The Group. I'm sure Louie will be down with that. And if Toya isn't working at JPs, then she can come with us. Not sure about JR and I'll have to call Pat.
I'm thinking Thursday next week. Louie and I are gonna go see some hot Lindsay Lohan action on Tuesday.
So, yeah...shouldn't be a big deal moving The Group. And I might need a support group with all this drinking. I'm taking tonight off.
But yeah, check on the Happy Hour and it shouldn't be a big deal:) Make sure there's pool tables so I can kick your ass again, White Boy:)
I know they've got at least one or two pool tables. They've got dart boards as well, if you'd like to lose to me at those too. ;-)
Hahaha. I win at darts. You're on, White Boy:)
You're both on!
Hey! When do we get to see some updated pics of the house?
From what I can see so far it looks good :)
And I hear ya on that bar owner. I can't stand when a business treats their customers like crap. Wonder how he'd feel if he got thrown out in a similar manner. What a dink!
@Steve -- I'll post when and where we head out to next week, you should stop by!
@Scott -- I'm hoping to have new pictures, and perhaps a movie, posted this weekend. And yeah, but I'll be convincing everyone around here to not go to JPs ever again. I vote with my pocketbook. :-)
