All sorts of things!
I spent the last (almost) two days trying to track down an annoying bug with William and Mars that only affected IA32 machines. Basically, exceptions weren't being properly caught if you had a method without any reference counted objects in it. Le suck! We finally tracked it down after many hours of wading thru assembly dumps and other fun things. It took a whopping five minutes to fix once we found it. LoL, I hate bugs like that! But at least it wasn't a hugely difficult issue to fix once we found it.
They finally poured the basement and garage concrete yesterday. I stopped out at the house to check things out and ended up coming home with a load of "waste" lumber. It's amazing just how much stuff they throw out or just plain miss. For example, I bet I picked up 40 packets of nails (the 10-packs that go into nail guns). Granted, these things cost like a nickel a packet, but still -- that's a lot of nails to just drop and not bother picking up. Needless to say, I cleaned up the job site a bunch. I brought most of the leftover lumber (just small scrap pieces of 2x6 and 2x4's) over to my neighbor's house. He has a firepit that we all sit around every week, so I'm donating the wood for the neighborhood's use.
I'm taking off early from work today so that I can do house chasing. I have to go pick out my flooring for the kitchen and bathroom areas. Once that's done, I'm going over to the cabinetry shop to pick out my kitchen and bathroom countertops. From there, I have to do some more checking on lighting fixtures. And I'll end my day off with putting up the rigid insulation in the basement with dad. We only have to do the half-high wall, but it should still take a while. Basically, it involves gluing some rigid insulation to the wall, then building a studwall to attach in over it. Nothing difficult, just time consuming.
We had a huge storm blow through here about 3am last night. I got up and closed some windows -- I was awake because of the hail. This morning we lost power for about an hour, but what's strange is that the sky was blue when the power went out. :: shrugs :: quite random.
I played Mario Party 4 with Dan and Lou last night. That game's fun, but Lou always kicks my ass. LoL, that kid gets every damn star during the bonus round, I swear! That's ok though, I had a blast.
Well, I'm off to go chase for house stuff. Wish me luck!
*looks around* I must have been PASSED OUT cuz I didn't hear a damn thing. And when I move into my apartment, can I borrow a piece of your wood to hold my patio door shut? (safety precaution, you know...)
And are you coming to JPs tonight? I've got an invitation for you. 8:00:)
LoL, sure, you can borrow some lumber. When are you moving in?
And I dunno if I'll be there at 8 cuz I'm insulating the basement tonight w/dad. However, I'll prolly show up after that.
I'm moving August 1-ish. It'll probably just need to be a 2x4...about four feet long or something. However long the part from a patio door would be...you know what I'm talking about? But I can talk to you about it tonight.
And after 8:00 is fine. We'll be there:)
