I finally got around to updating the house picture site, so now there's new pictures up. The pictures range from 7/9 to 7/21, so they're pretty recent. You can see some of the awesome progress we've been making -- like cabinets and light fixtures! w00t!

Holy crap. It's really becoming a HOUSE!!! Woot!
I really like the window moldings. Are those the ones that your mom was working on staining?
I cannot tell from the pictures, but is your kitchen countertop made with Corian or Formica? I always wanted to get Corian countertops.
Yeah, the window casings are some of what mom was staining and varnishing. Anything that's not a cabinet or a door is something she did. Which is A LOT.
The countertops are formica. I'd love to get granite some day... but just couldn't afford it for this house. Corian is quite nice as well (as is Silestone).
Really coming along nicely. My wife would be very jealous of the kitchen.
I just noticed you went with cranking windows rather than sliding. Was that much more expensive?
Thanks! I'm going to like that kitchen (I think), since I enjoy cooking quite a bit.
I went with crankouts because I've found that they work better than sliding ones. The reason is, when you crank the window out, you "catch" more of the breeze. But with a slider, the window has to be blowing just right in order for it to come in the house.
They're more expensive than the sliders, but I think it's well worth it. I think it cost about 1000$ extra for the whole house worth of windows (and I've got 10 crank-out windows, so 100$ per window).
