Quick Update

| | Comments (6)

I've got limited connectivity at the conference for two reasons:

1) My WiFi appears to suck. I can connect to one of a number of different hotspots, but it never fully grabs an IP for me.

2) I have no ethernet drivers (never needed them before).

So because of this, I won't be updating quite as often as I'd like to be. :-/ I'm sure I'll get the tech issues worked out at some point today, but it still bugs me.

So far, the conference has been quite nice. I've only seen keynotes thusfar though, so I've only got marketing information to report. ;-) I'll get technical later, when I'm not standing at a kiosk. :-P

Bingo, found out why my wireless sucked. I had some strange settings for my router at home. :-P Back online, more updates to come. I have a session to get to right now though: Lap around Win FX and Win32 SDKs. Wahoo!

I've missed something. What conference are you at?

Thats easy Aaron, you need to enable the wifi-HS detection property to true and then subclass it to the left-handed-whazzit class. After that, it is a simple matter of calling it via a standard OBL truncated , EBDI encoded function call.

I beleive it in page 666 of the LR, hope it helps!

I've had problems with my Apple Powerbook Airport card connecting to generic open WiFi networks, but never on my Windows Notebook. Besides, you would think at PDC the Microsoft techs would have everything set up perfectly! ;-)

I am glad you figured it out though -- can't wait to get more updates, although I don't expectn any earth-shattering announcments like recent WWDC conferences.

But if RS would just releaese the AI module, it would just take care of itself.

@Charlie -- I'm at Microsoft's PDC (Professional developer conference) here in Los Angeles.

@Bill & Mike -- har har har. ;-)

@Phil -- Actually, I've been quite impressed so far. And I must admit, Mac users should be happy. ;-)
