I went shopping yesterday and picked up some items for around the house, like blinds, stakes (for the trees) and things like that. Yay for shopping! I also hung out at mom and dad's for a little while before I went grocery shopping, which was nice. Mom and I BSed about some stuff while I helped her transplant parts of her garden (she's bringing a few of the hardier plants indoors for the winter).
Last night was Cait's Halloween party. It was a lot of fun -- definetely nice seeing everyone again. It was slightly odd though since it's the first time I've seen Rachel N (one of my exes) in about 5 years. But it was nice to catch up with her again; I'm glad to see she's doing well and is happy. She was there along with her boyfriend (also named Aaron). Becky came by with candy for the dish, which was awesome. :-) Lou showed up for a while as well. There were also a ton of people I've never seen before there (then again, it's tough when everyone's wearing a costume). It was a nice time. I had a few beers, then came home around midnight.
This morning I got up to the sound of my doorbell ringing. Turns out that Juan's idea of "mid afternoon" is 9am. But in any event, he came over and fixed the leak in my basement -- it was a valve that needed adjusting from the sprinkler system. Oh shit, but I just realized that I forgot to give him his check for blowing out my sprinkler system. Lol, so I've got something to go stick in the mail tomorrow. :-P
After Juan left, I installed some of my blinds (the ones in my bedroom). I still have to get the blinds in the office up, but I'm trying to figure out how to install those without having to move all my computer stuff since the desk is up against the window.
Then off to Target I went to go pick up other needed items, like candy for trick-or-treaters and some Halloween decorations. I love this time of year, and I'm really excited to hand out candy to all the kids! :-)
Then I hung out with the neighbors (George, Nancy, Lance and Anita) BSing about the state of the world. It sounds like they're firing up the hottub tonight around 9pm, so I may pop over there for a beer and soak.
So yeah, life is pretty mundane for me. I love it. :-)
Sounds like you're living a pretty good life over there:)
I forgot to tell you last night! I talked to my dad, and while he doesn't normally do outdoor sprinkler systems/sandpoints, he'd be more than happy to make and exception for you if you needed it ;)
Awesome! I may take him up on it -- but then again, I may just install it myself too. They're not too hard to install from what I've heard. Of course, once I've made a plumbing snafu, then I can call your dad up; give him a real challenge. ;-)
