I spent my weekend exactly how I wanted to, which is always great!
I got up Saturday morning and just sorta hung out around the house. I read for pretty much the entire day (managed to finish a 600 page book in about 1.5 days). When I wasn't reading, I was napping. I haven't been sleeping too well lately, so I've been rather exhausted. So it was nice to have a day to just lay around and be a bum.
I also went furniture shopping on Saturday with mom to see if I could find a few items for the house. I need an entertainment center (the steel server rack just doesn't look right with everything else in the house), a bench for down in the foyer and a wine rack. I was also taking peeks at new beds (it's my dream to have a nice king-sized bed).
Well, I found an entertainment center that I like -- so now I'm just waiting until Jan to get it. I know they're coming out with 100$ of coupons, and that's a lot of money to save. :-) I also found a freaking awesome bedroom set that I'll never be able to afford. lol, it's all made out of maple (which wouldn't work in this house anyways since everything else in the house is oak). The bed was like 2700$, the armoire was like another 1700$ and the nightstand was like 300$. Way out of my league, but damn was it nice. The benches were way too expensive given the fact that dad could make one just as nice for a lot less. They were asking for like 300-400$ for a damned bench seat. Bleh. Wine racks were equally expensive, and again, something dad and I could make ourselves.
Today I got up about 9am, and started getting ready to face the day. I went over to mom and dad's for our weekly ritual of bitching at the Vikings. We were rewarded with them winning their 6th game in a row (not that difficult, given that they were playing the Rams). I really hope they leave these "second-stringers" in, even when our million dollar players are back to being healthy. Daunte C. sucks fat wank.
After the game (and lunch), we sat around and BSed for a while. Mom picked up some more house decorations for me while she was out and about, so I came home loaded down with more stuff for my house. It's actually starting to look rather festive, so I'm happy. :-)
We've had a snow advisory for the entire day (which I think is just now expiring), and we didn't get a damned flake of snow. I'm rather disappointed since I've yet to have my first "welcome home, Aaron" blizzard of the season. And I WANT one. So much for the 60% chance of snows today. Le suck.
I've only got four more days of work left until I'm done for the year! Oh man, I feel like a kid getting ready for summer vacation. LoL! I'm taking Friday off, and then all the following week (I have to use my vacation time up before I lose it). And then we're closed from Christmas thru New Year's as a company holiday. So I won't have to work again until 2006! Except that's total BS since I'll be working on my side project, as well as starting to sheetrock the basement. But still, it's exciting because the PROSPECTS are there for having a bunch of time to be a lazy-assed human being.
Get a Tempurpedic king size, you will never, ever question your decision. It is the best thing for sleep, other than tranquilizers.
