Happy birthday to me...

For my birthday this year, I got...a shitty mystery illness.

I have a very, very sore throat. Nothing else. Not a runny nose. Not a fever. Nothing. Just a throat that feels like I swallowed razorblades.

Thankfully, I have the best girlfriend in the world (whom I love very much). Lis has been a darlin -- got me some Choloseptic so I have some temporary relief from my throat. Got me an awesome cake (though I can't taste much since the spray drugs taste like a latex glove). Got me a bunch of kickin gifts. Lis rocks!

I'm still hunting for that elusive XBox 360, as well as Oblivion and Sid Meier's Pirates. Anyone know of some good deals on this, please please please let me know. I'm having a hard time finding a good deal in the usual places. Since the console is so new, I don't trust eBay -- but other places are either sold out or damn spendy (like a grand+).

I've spent most of the day polishing off a sampler app for the Crystalfontz 633 device that Lewis gave me at REAL World 2006. My serial class supports almost everything the device can do. I'm going to whip up a good demo app for it, and then write an in-depth article about how serial stuff works using it as the example. So far, things are going quite well (and btw Lewis, I don't have your email address on the laptop, so if you want a copy of what I've got so far, email me and I'd be happy to shoot it your way).

Oye, if I still feel like crap tomorrow, I may not make it into work. I can barely speak. So.... I'm done.

Aaron, don't push yourself too hard right now. The sore throat may be the first symptom of the flu that's going around. It was the first thing that my wife and I noticed when we caught it. My wife's still getting over it -- the sore throat and coughing can last for weeks.

Oh, I forgot: Happy birthday!!

Gah! That's no good! Take it easy! And happy birthday! *stomps on mystery illness*

I'm sorry you feel crappy! It's probably the temperature change or something crazy like that.

Have a good trip regardless!

Happy Birthday Aaron!

Let Lis baby you for a while, you not only need it, but you deserve it.

But, uh, can you get cracking on that Serial Article? Uh, you know, between bouts of vomitting, coughing up lung and bloody bowel movements? It's like, you can only watch so much Oprah, no?

Let me know if you need anything.

Oh, how do you want Oblivion and Pirates (what format/console), I will get them shipped out to you post haste, or how Bill shows Aaron how not to piss around and value his time properly.

Happy Birthday!

You can always come down my way and check out my 360 and Oblivion ;)..

@Scott -- I was wondering if it was that, but since I have no fever... weird! Trust me, I will attempt to take it as easy as possible.

@Bill -- Find me a reasonable rate on a 360 (the games are the easy part) and I'll be your best friend forever (btw, the serial article will be started very soon, honest!).

@Jake -- what, get together? Wouldn't that just spoil our perfect record of not hanging out even though we live like an hour apart? :-P

How are you digging Oblivion? I hear it rocks -- truth or lie?

To me Choloseptic tastes like bug spray smells.

Shoot away.

Oblivion = TEH RAWK. I played like 30 hours of it this weekend, which is pathetic, but that's just who I am.

Aaron: Check Costco. Costco here in the Great Northwest now get about a few dozen 360s per week and sell them at list price without any stupid bundles. (This might be because Costco was founded here and Microsoft's here, though, so I can't guarantee you'll have luck.)

I should add if you can't find one at Costco, check the big department stores: Target, Fred Meyer, Wal-Mart, K-Mart. They don't get as big a supply, but they all sell at list.

If you've possibley got Strep, be a pal and stay out of the office...and finish your antibiotics.

Happy B-Day. Sorry you feel ookie. ;)

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!!...Have you tried Crutchfield (I know they specialize in car audio, but it's been a while since I've been there).

Oblivion = Bliss

Happy birthday!

Arne

Happy (extremely) late Bday, hope you're feeling better. I get that damn Strep at least a couple times a year, if that's what it is...that sucks...antibiotics usually get rid of it quickly for me.
