Ok, so I need to know.

Who here has cats?

It seems to me that a large portion of REALbasic users are cat owners, so I'm just curious to know who out of my blog readers are also cat owners.

I did until a couple of weeks ago. We had two (mother and daughter), but we had to give them to friends when my folks moved into town. It wasn't safe for country-cats to be suddenly immersed in the city.

So, yes - you can call me a cat-person. I'd say over the last ten years, our household has produced over 100 kittens! BTW: I'm also a dog person.. I know it's strange - I swing both ways!

Got one dog and one fish. Plus one daughter and one foster son (at the moment). Allergic to cats.

Don't have them. Never will.

Cats are pussies.

I'm not a cat person...I'm much more a dog person, but my 3 kids just love cats. So yes, I have a cat(which is pregnant for the third time in 6mo)...it keeps getting out.

I said I'm a dog person already, so I'll tell you what kind. I have a small "super-mut" as the kids and I have come to call her. She's an ugly mix of God-Knows-What, but she's so hyper you have to love(and throw the ball! Throw it! Don't tease me! Throw the -- I GOT IT I GOT IT I GOT IT...Throw the ball!) her obnoxiousness.

Cat owner here. I've got two 17 pound Ragdolls now. Prior to that I had a Himalayan, a Persian and a Maine Coon for 16 years.

When I was a teenager, we fed the neighborhood stray cats and built houses for them in our back yard. We had up to 20 of them at one time. When we moved out of that house and into an apartment in Manhattan, the remaining ones became our pets or found homes with friends.

It surprised me that I became a cat lover. I had a dog when I was a child (and my wife had one when we married), and a cat scratched me so badly once when I was a child that I was scared of them for years. My first cat, Bernie, turned everything around. He was a dying kitten that we found and nursed back to health. He bonded to me like I was his mother and slept on top of me every night. It was fun having him draped on my neck when he was a kitten, but somehow it wasn't as much fun when he grew to 13 pounds. :)

No cat. Allergic. Greatly dislike their you-are-my-posession nature.

I have a wonderful mixed-breed dog which is incredibly well behaved and lovable.
Additionally, I have a beautiful 7-month-old African Senegal parrot who exudes happiness, is entertaining and very playful!

No cats for this RB programmer!

Pixel used to live with me :)

No cats anymore, though. Allergic.

Dog owner here. Had a cat when I was a kid, but my mom became allergic. This is my second dog, my first is living with my parents. His pics are here: http://photos.yahoo.com/petskippy, then choose Buddy at the Cottage (2005) :)

Cats, yeah. My family had 12 at a time when I was growing up. When I moved out here I finally got one of my own as a graduation gift, a purebred Maine Coon. She is a terrible cat though, no personality, not friendly, not smart. A little over a month ago I traded her with my folks for a smart tubby shorthair. My girlfriend's cat is quite cool too, with a horrendous voice and a lot of personality.

Two cats, a mother and son.

The mom is named Metronome, and the son has an excellent name that I came up with while drunk one night, but I can't remember what it is. So I just call him stupid.

@Charlie -- I dunno if things are different across the pond, but over here, we encourage people to get their cats fixed so that they don't reproduce so much. It's much healthier for the cats that way.

4 cats here...though I wouldn't want to embarrass them too much by exposing their weight online :) ...let's just say they're "well-fed".

No pets - landlord won't allow them. (Main reason why I want to move!)

Guilty as charged. Meaning, I've got a cat. I've pretty much had cats all my life. Though my current cat count (1) is on the low side for me.

I have no pets, which is just the way I like it. If forced to own a pet I'd pick a goldfish or a lizard. (I had a lizard when I was a kid. It could change colors. Neat.) I would pick a cat over a dog, though; I don't understand dogs at all.

Mars: You can now buy fish that can be colored just about anything you like, which means you can probably match your hair color, cool, no?

No cats, just a dog (a mix of a Malamute and Labrador).

@Michael -- your dog is adorable!

@Scott -- awesome use of a harness! Collars seem painful when I see people walking their dog and the dog is straining to run forward.

meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeow.

We have one cat, Caleb, the cool black cat.

For those of you who don't know -- I have a cat as well. :-P

Two wiener dogs. My mother-in-law is temporarily living with us and she has two cats.

Like I said (in the previous thread), I used to have a cat.

But now I have two daughters (6 years and 2 years) and they like to pretend that they are cats. Does that count? =)

:D I love cats, and yes I have 2. Cats do not suck, exept when you feed them wrong, then they feel the need to take a dump RIGHT beside the kitty litter >:| or somewhere totally inappropiate like the sink... (God cleaning that sucked)

Yup, two cats here. Far more entertainment value than a dog!

2 cats. One who is absolutely insane.

I have Miikka, and she's best friends with pixel isnt she aaron? Well, they used to be friends, until miikka got older; but I'm sure they'll get along again when they see each other.

Wasn't Miikka a famous stripper?

Oh wait, the one I was thinking about was Minka. Ok Lis, I was going to put you down as a perv, but you escaped that list by millimeters .

I had three cats, but I lost one in 2000, and lost another one in 2005 (both sicknesses from old age). They were both awesome, really cool cats--I felt lucky to have them.

I still have one, 13 years old now, but she seems like a kitten still. A little furball. Hides all day and comes out squeaking at us after sunset.

Two cats, both tiny 6-pound Devon Rex alien-kitties. One named Godiva, and the other named Harley (they're retired breeding cats, and came pre-named; I didn't name my cats after a drag queen and a motorcycle).

Two Black Cats. History has punished black cats because they are uniquely intelligent. Let the feline supremacy wars begin... 8^)
