The one thing I find that really pisses me off the most with this game is the fact that I have ZERO control over the single player mode. I can't pick the number of players on each side (limited to 16 player maps), which sucks because it means a number of maps are either boring or unavailable. How am I ever meant to get better at flying a jet when there's no map large enough to support one? But the single most annoying thing is the inability to play in single-player mode with the weapons I've unlocked. *I* unlocked the damned things, and *EA* is saying "you can't use those unless you go on these servers over here." And by "over here" I mean "ones which suckers pay highly monthly fees for." Last time I checked, I bought the damned game, so why don't you let me PLAY IT?
It's the little things like this which make me not want to buy another game by EA. I don't like playing multiplayer that often (it's a good LAN game, but I get tired of the idiot kiddies and general annoying behavior which goes along with any online game), and so I'd like to see the single-player mode not suck so hard. The bots are reasonably fun to play against, but when I can't make any changes to the server or make use of neat new toys which I've unlocked, then I get angry.
