Ok, this time for sure, I hope

After a very hectic past two weeks, I think I'm back in the saddle again.

Lis went back to Austin this morning, which sucks. I miss her already. :-( But this does mean that my vacation is winding up, and I should be back on a more regular schedule for work, blogging and life in general. That girl is a whirlwind, I tell ya!

We went to see Talladega Nights last night and it was a very funny movie. We were both quoting it on the way down to the airport this morning, so it means we must have liked it at some level. It's certainly not an intellectual movie, but it's got plenty of good stupid humor in it. It's almost like a documentary about Nascar. Spookily accurate. :: grins ::

I may be getting a new truck. The Dodge is working great still, but Grandpa is selling his Ford F-150 for a really good price. It's a 1999 model, 1/2 ton truck with only 26k miles on it, and he's offered it to me for $5k. Anyone have opinions on the model and year they'd like to share?

Speaking of grandpa -- everyone in my family is ok. The tornados hit Larry's house, which sounds like it's going to be totalled out since it's off the foundation. But everyone is alright, which is what's important. The entire area down there is still a mess, but it sounds like they've got it under control. I was going to go down this weekend to help with the cleanup, but it sounds like everyone in the area helped out and got Larry's place back in some semblence of order. So instead, dad and I are going to work on the railing for the deck so that project can be marked "completed."

On the geeky side, I downloaded the Office 12 beta today and have been playing with it (helping Lis' resumé out) and I have to admit, it's really nice. I may make a posting about it sometime soon with screenshots and pontificate on the UI changes.

Well, it's late -- time for bed. G'night!
