Whataweekend

Boy, time flies!

I got up at the ungodly hour of 7am on Saturday because dad wanted to come work on the deck instead of going fishing (which shocked me). I don't deal well with mornings, so I wasn't on my A-game for deck building. ;-) But between the two of us, we got a ton of work done. 3/4 of the spindles were attached, the stair stringers were put up and stairs attached, and by golly, it looked like a deck! We cut off about 4pm, and I went inside to sleep.

At about 7, Andrea called me up asking if I could come work the fireman's dance in Clearwater. So a very groggy Aaron wandered out there and worked in the kitchen (with the rest of the guys) until about midnight. Tim Mahoney did the live music, and it was a really good time. I wish more people had shown up since the weather ended up being awesome, with great music and good food. Plus, it was for an awesome cause: the Clearwater fire department. After things wound down, I went home -- forgetting one shirt (the one I came in), but with my new fire dept shirt (this one's blue, not red). I then promptly did a face-plant into my pillow and got some blissful sleep.

Dad called and woke me up again today. But this time it was at 11:30, which is a much more respectable hour to get up. ;-) He came over and we worked on the deck more. Now all of the spindles are up, as well as top 2x6 railing for the deck. We also finished the top step for the stairs. So now there's only one job left to do: railings going down the stairs. I can't wait for this project to be done! But the deck is certainly usable today, which is awesome.

In about an hour, I'm going to head out to play some volleyball with the CWFD guys and gals. It's a standing "date" on every Sunday, which is awesome. I've been way too lax in getting real exercise recently, but my beer-guzzling regiment has stayed steady. ;-) So the more times I can get out to play volleyball, the better.

But I feel as though I've not really had a weekend. It's been spent chasing and working the entire time, and I've not really had the chance to relax. But that's fine -- Lis gets here this coming Friday! Then I get a real vacation, and I get to spend it with Lis to boot! I'm really excited for that.

I hope everyone's had a good weekend! Anyone do anything fun and interesting?

I got pulled over for speeding this am (sunday), but it all worked out in the end.

"It all worked out in the end"...does that translate to "I bribed him and he let me go"?

Nah, we enjoyed a laugh, and he checked outmy car - and then he let me go.

As I said, it all worked outin the end.

I watched my boyfriend win the Heavyweight Demo Derby on Sunday:) That was really exciting!

Well, I got into a fistfight with my woman's ex-husband last night...beat him senseless.

Wow -- everyone seems to have something interesting that happened over the weekend. Musta been because it's close to a full moon or somethin. ;-)
