Last Day of Fishing

I got out on the lake with dad today for what will probably be the last day of fishing we get in this year.

We took off for Big Birch around noon today, mostly fearful of the winds. Once we got on the lake, we realized just how crappy the wind really was -- even the quite bays were bad. So after spending about a half hour on Birch, we left and headed over to Mary. That lake was a lot quieter, so we found a nice bay to sit in and fish for about 3 hours.

Unfortunately, we caught squat. However, we saw one bald eagle, several turtles, ducks, seagulls and other animals. Also, the leaves are in full peak for their fall colors around here. Couple that with the fact that it was in the mid-seventies today (once we were out of the wind) and it was a gorgeous day to be out on the lake with dad.

As for the rest of my boring plans this weekend... I'm installing Vista rc2 (right now, in fact), I need to go grocery shopping, get some laundry done, do some general cleaning, get more plants from mom and dad's place and finish my mystery article. Wahoo, eh?
