Busy, busy, busy!
I managed to get about 8 lilac sprouts planted on Friday night, but I was outside planting in the dark until about 10pm. It's not quite time for DST around here, but the nights are certainly getting shorter. I figured I still had summer daylight when I started the project. Oops! I'm hoping to finish my planting on Thursday. I'm going to pick up some bleeding heart bushes, snowball bushes, irises, lilies and probably some more lilacs. Yay for yanking stuff from mom's garden! :-) Oh, and my willow tree is sprouting new branches all over the place because of the recent rains and warm weather. I bet it's going to double in size next year, by the looks of things!
I got up yesterday and help my neighbor Jesse lay field stone for the facade on his new house. That pretty much took up the entire day for me as I was over there from about 10:30am until about 7pm. We got almost 60 stones laid, which is a very good day for doing that sort of work. Man, the front of his house is going to look awesome...
Of course, now I'm half-tempted to lay field stone around my imaginary fire place in the basement. Because I need more work to do, ya know? ;-)
After laying stone all day, I kicked back and watched a MST3K movie, ate pizza and just generally had a nice evening. I started a new article for RB Library (remember that site?) which I'm hoping to get finished sometime this week. It's a mystery article, woo! :-)
The plan for today is to drink (not that I didn't end up doing that all day yesterday). It's Abe's bachelor party today! :-) I'm heading over to Adam's with some gear for the party fairly soon, and then at 2pm, the fun begins. Not certain when I'll be getting back home (or if -- I may have to crash at Adam's if this party is anything like Scott's was).
So yeah, that's my exciting weekend. What about yours?
My weekend wasn't much of an end of anything. I worked on a research paper (and still am working on it) most of the time. However, I did go to a concert by Mark Wood, the rock-violinist of Trans-Siberian Ochestra fame.
Ohhhh, I loooooove Mystery Artitcles.
Can we get a couple of chintzy robots to do the comments?
My "fun" last week consisted of getting my furnace and a/c replaced. Got the top end model of furnace and the a/c. Set me back about $7500 + taxes. But fortunately that's financed over the next 5 yrs with our provincial utilities company. So they just add the pmts to our gas/electric bill each month.
The one truly fun thing I got was a pair of Nintendo DS's for me and a buddy. Been having a blast on those. With the DS, Nintendo's been pushing more multiplayer games which is awesome. One thing I'd like to see in the near future is the DS web browser coming to North America. It's based on the Opera web browser, so I expect it will be decent. (Looks good in the screenshots :P). Opera is also the browser Nintendo has embedded in the Wii, which is scheduled to be released next month (Nov 19 in North America). Looking forward to that. The new control concept is really interesting.
You *know* it's a great bachelor party when there's a disorderly conduct ticket involved (not me, honest!). Also, I don't think my liver and I are on good speaking terms right now... :-)
@Aaron: Hey, save some alcohol for the rest of us! :) *runs over and cuddles with a bottle of ice wine*
Glad to hear you had fun!
I'm set to have a fun this coming weekend. A buddy from out-of-town is coming in for his birthday and Thanksgiving (Canadian). Should be a blast. I think I'll take him to Montana's and make sure he has to wear those antlers and get sung to by the staff :P... And I hear a rumour you can get them to pie him in the face... hmmm :P
As long as the disorderly conduct ticket isn't for the bachelor in question, it's all good :-P
Naw, the bachelor wasn't at the scene of the crime, though he certainly had his fun for the night as well.
