Merry Day After Christmas!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season, no matter what you celebrate (if you celebrate). I had a really nice time this year. It was my first Christmas away from family, so it was a bit strange not to do my usual Christmas traditions. But it was fun seeing how Elissa's family does things.

On Christmas Eve, all of Lis' extended family gathered to exchange gifts and hang out. It was really odd -- her extended family comfortably fits inside of a living room! But everyone was really nice and we had a blast. I shot my first handgun, too! It was a .45 caliber, semi-automatic pistol. Lis' uncle Glenn collects guns and he was nice enough to take us out shooting in the field behind the house. Lis shot a .22 rifle (and one shot from the handgun), and I shot a 12 gauge shotgun. Overall, it was a lot of fun. :-)

Then on Christmas day, it was just Lis' immediate family. We opened gifts in the morning, and had a wonderful breakfast afterwards. Everyone was so nice -- her family got me some gifts to make sure I didn't feel left out. I got some neat stuff, too! Some items for the grill, some new work gloves, a breadmaker, and other things.

I spent the rest of the time helping out with chores (like cleaning goat hooves), and playing World of Warcraft. It was a blast!

The fun for today was packing the U Haul for the trip up to MN. I can't believe it, but we managed to fill up a 4x8x8 trailer -- packed it full too. Lis' parents just pulled away a few minutes ago. Lis and I are taking off tomorrow morning so that we have today to finish cleaning and visiting friends. But bright and early tomorrow, we start our trek northwards.

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday -- tell me stories!
