That's the long and short of it. Worst. Football. "Team." Ever. So in my opinion, Minnesota shouldn't even have a football team anymore. They're too much of a disappointment -- we have enough of those as it stands (anyone watched the Twins in the last few years?).

In other news, I've been making good strides with my trucker application. It's almost entirely functional with my Ford, so I've started working on my Dodge next. Having some problems with the Dodge, but mostly due to bad protocol information. However, the good news is that it's working perfectly from Windows and the Mac (yay for REALbasic). Aside from making sure things are working on my Dodge, I have to start making the application prettier. I'm looking for some custom controls (because I'm lazy), so if anyone has suggestions, let me know. I'm looking for something which can show data in a thermometer, a dial gauge (like a speedometer), a bar graph and a line graph. There's probably some other view formats that I'd like (so more options is better), but those are the main ones. Any ideas? I'm looking for something which is visually very pretty (another reason why I don't want to do it myself -- I'm no artist), so the flashier, the better. :-)
Well, there's one more quarter left to watch the Vikings suck in. After that, I think I'll make a nice lunch to reward myself for actually watching the entire debacle through to the end. ;-)
But, but, if the Vikings get a new stadium, then they'll be a better team! And while we're at it, let's give the Twins a new stadium, too! Because for some reason, building a new stadium makes financial sense. Think of all the money it'll bring into whatever city/county has it. Wait, won't that necessarily mean MPLS won't have that same economic boon? Nevermind, it'll bring in money from all around!

@Becki - Depending on where you live, maybe you should pay attention. I couldn't care less about professional sports. At least not in the classic, "How's my team doing?" sense. But now, with the Twins and Vikings (and to a lesser degree, the U of M Gophers) wanting a new stadium of their own, it's got the potential to affect everyone. There's been talk of an increase in state sales tax to fun it even. And though Pawlenty would veto that, I'm sure he'd find some way to weasel it through so taxpayers are still paying for it.
I don't attend any sporting events unless there's a damn good reason (which is usually that some friends want to go out with Andrea and me), and I don't watch them on TV, either. For that matter, I don't even care to hear what the scores of last night's game are. And the ONLY reason I'm in a fantasy football league right now is because my neighbor was desparate to get one last person in (FYI, my team is 0 and 12 last I checked, if that indicates at all how I follow players).
Because I really couldn't give a rip about sports, I don't think it's fair that it's possible my hard-earned and easily-blown tax dollars may go to fund new stadiums. I'd rather they go towards public transportation, health care for the un- or under-insured, and/or improving the education system here.

Oh, no, I agree with what you're saying about tax dollars going to a new stadium and stuff. Education and public transit all the way!
I mean that I have no interest in watching sports or keeping track of how good/bad a team is doing.
And fantasy football...man...good for the people that enjoy it, I just don't want to even go there.
