Friday night was rather exciting -- Lis made me watch Brokeback Mountain. It was a pretty good movie except for some rather awkward moments. I'm comfortable with my sexuality and have several gay friends, but apparently I'm rather shy when it comes to watching guy-on-guy action with my fiance. :-P That being said, I'd still recommend the movie to people who have open minds.
In any event, I stayed up way too late on Friday, so Saturday came pretty darned early. But Lis and I ended up spending it mostly hanging around the house. She had to run out for a haircut, and I had plenty of RBLibrary stuff to keep me occupied. At one point we did go out for a walk in the 50+ degree weather. It was awesome outside! Even Lis was commenting on how warm it was, when two months earlier she'd be telling me how miserably cold 50 was. ;-)
The evening was a blast though. My friend Joel called me up and invited Lis and I to go watch Husky Hockey. Seeing as how it's playoff time, we were all over that. Huskies won (of course!) in OT in an excellent game. It was a frickin blast!
But alas, Lis had to fly out to California this morning, which meant that Aaron is a very sleepy boy. We didn't get back from the game until after 11pm, and with Lis having to do some packing and stuff, we weren't in bed until midnight. Except our stupid gov't decided we need to monkey with the already idiot daylight savings time. So it was really 1am. And we had to be awake around 6am so we could be on the road around 7am. Yee haw! But I got Lis down to the airport in plenty of time (even with being sleepy as hell). As far as I know, she's alive and well and near the shitstorm of wildfires. Eek! I wouldn't know for sure though since she hasn't called home yet. (Tsk tsk!)
The fun for the evening is going to involve me, a pizza and perhaps some Red Dwarf. Then blissful sleep! Lis gets back on Tuesday, so tomorrow is going to be another fun day of bachelorhood. :-)
*grumbles about the time shift*
Now when I wake up, it's dark again!
I'd at least like to have some indication that it really is morning when I wake up
You think your Saturday came early? I had a bad cold/cough/sore throat and took Nyquil at 11:00 on Friday. I woke up at 11:00 Saturday. It took me a long time to realize it was really Saturday and that I hadn't woke up again on Friday and wasn't having a bad dream. I spent the rest of the weekend alternating between the computer, watching a Toshiro Mifune movie and Family Guy (this week's episode was a lot better than the last few), then sleeping again.
A few odd coincidences:
1. My best friend since 2nd grade (and we're still in touch) is also named Joel.
2. I'm a Red Dwarf fan too.
3. I had a lot of RBLibrary stuff to keep me busy too. ;-)
I loved Red Dwarf when it came out, and ended up reading the books. They are even better than the TV series. The books are almost but not quite as good as the HHGTTG books (you know, the increasingly inaccurately named trilogy, since it consists of 5 books). Good break from programming.
