Life is so much fun, right? So I bet you're wondering what I've been up to. No good, that's what!
After 2007r2 was released, I dove right in to r3 for my day job. That's been keeping me pretty busy for most of my days. And when I'm not working on that, I've been preparing my REAL World 2007 presentations (which are due Friday of next week, in case any presenters are reading).
In my oh-so-ample free time, I've been working on a project that I've wanted to work on for ages, but never found the time to. My accessibility plugin is almost 100% complete. It's in the late beta stages, and should be available for purchase fairly soon (I hope). So that's very exciting!
It's Elissa's birthday tomorrow, so everyone should be certain to send her a happy birthday message/card. She's turning ******* years young. :-)
I've got some news for everyone (some may find it sad, others happy, and still others won't care). Lis and I are moving to southern CA next month. She was accepted into UCR (Riverside) for their grad program, and she starts her research at the beginning of June. Needless to say, I've been super stressed lately about finding a place to live within a half-hour drive time of the school. And what's more, trying to figure out what to do with the house here in MN. So that's been taking up tons of our time while we do all of the prep work involved in a major move. Yee haw! So it's exciting, and sad at the same time.
I'm sure I'm missing all sorts of other interesting things to talk about, but you'll forgive me. You always do. :-P
Aaron,
If you ever plan on moving back to MN, maybe you cold rent the house there? I know your parent are close by so they could keep an eye on the place for you while you are away.
It just seems like a shame since you just finished the house that you'd have to seel it.
Good luck, hope it all works out!
We plan to come back to MN after grad school, so that's why we're looking to hold on to the house for now.
Something I forgot to add: I'm thinking of having a going away party towards the end of May. I'll post details once we track down exactly when, but hopefully people can make it.
DUnno about a going away party.
That's a hell of a long drive for a party from here although I did drive to Winnipeg MB for a weekend just a couple weeks back :)
From there It can't be that far and that was only 16 hours
Norm -- you make it to my going away party, I will have to double the amount of beer I purchase. So you're obviously welcome to come, but my wallet understands if you can't make the arduous trip. ;-)
holy crap! next month? woah. You know what that means...that means we need to get together before you're gone! Any weekend that's good for me to come up and visit?
Aha! Now I bother to read the comments and see you've got a going away party in the works. Give me a date, and I will set it aside to come up to cloud land.
ROAD TRIP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yah just never know
I just got my nice new shiny passport so I have to break it in :)
:( This makes me very, very sad. It'll be really warm there. LOL. I will miss you even tho I never see you as it is! Good luck with everything and don't forget about us here!
Welcome to SoCal, from a lifelong resident! UCR ain't so bad. My wife graduated from there and liked everything but their parking situation.
I'm sure it'll be an adjustment for you (especially the first summer when it gets 110-115 out here during a heat wave) but you'll like it.
Just a hint: If you're looking to live within about 30 minutes of Riverside, I'd shoot for Corona, Hemet, Beaumont, or San Jacinto, in that order. I'd stay away from Moreno Valley, Riverside, most areas of Perris, and San Bernardino. These choices can be slightly over your 30 minute target depending on traffic, but I don't think you'd want to live in the neighborhoods that are too close. Just my two cents worth.
