Just to let everyone know, Elissa and I made it into Riverside safely on Friday night, and got our new town house (renting, not buying) on Saturday. We've been very busy getting situated, but so far, things are great. The town house is very spacious and really nice. The complex we're in has great people (one of which has an open wifi connection :: grins ::) who are very friendly. It's also a very beautiful complex with trees and flowers everywhere. We're both really happy and really lucky to have found such a great place.

Lis starts her lab work on Wed, and I start back to work sometime soon, so we're both still chasing tons. We've found most of the major things we need (Target, Home Depot and a grocery store) all relatively close to home. What's also nice about Riverside is there's never really any traffic problems and the streets are pretty easy to figure out. So getting around town has proven to be a lot better than I was anticipating, that's for sure.

Whenever I finally find my digital camera, I'll have to post some pictures of the new place. It's still in a total state of disarray, but we're getting there. One of our new neighbors just sold us a reasonably nice couch and chair for 25$, so we have a place to sit now. :-)

Oh! Both of the kitties made it to California safely as well. They did really well on the first two days of the trip, but by the third day, they had enough of sitting in their carriers. ;-) But they've adjusted nicely to the new place and are settling into their old routines. Normalcy is good, eh?

Glad to hear everything's gone smoothly for you!

I am glad things turn out nice for you!

Welcome to California!!

We are glad you had a good trip.

Thanks all! So far, everything's going very well. I just wish there were more hours in the day -- I forgot just what a PITA moving is in terms of chasing around for things. :-P

I hope your cats are calmer than mine. Every time I move, they pee in every corner for months. Welcome to the west coast! Don't forget to try the In 'n Out drive-thrus.
