Vacation Time

Wahoo! I'm done working until the end of the year (actually, I won't be back to work until Jan 3rd or 4th). I'm both looking forward to and dreading my vacation time. Lis and I are flying in to Austin on Saturday, and then we start the parade of vendors for the wedding. For three days, we have at least two vendors to meet and discuss things with. But the hope is that by Thur morning, we will have all of the vendors for the wedding picked out and lined up (with the possible exception of a DJ). While this will relieve much stress with both of us, neither of us is terribly excited about meeting them. Some meetings will be better than others (cake tasting is better than flowers, for instance). Once we're done meeting everyone though, then the fun begins. We'll be heading down to Lis' mom's house and spending time there.

On Christmas afternoon, we fly out of Austin and up to Minnesota. We should arrive back in St Cloud with about a half hour of Christmas left. :-P I've got my bachelor party on the 27th (yay Adam!) and we have our engagement party on the 29th (yay Aunt Cathy and Uncle Paul!). You'll notice that gives me one full day of recovery too -- how's that for planning? ;-) As of yet, we have no plans for new years eve, but after all the chasing, I will probably want to be in bed by 10pm! But, knowing myself, I'll probably still be drinking at 1am instead. At least it won't be like last year's fun fiasco. ;-)

What does everyone else have planned? Anyone doing something out of the ordinary?

If all goes as planned, you'll need some recoup time after your bachelor party :) Don't forget to come prepared for drinking, cold weather, and my sauna.

when is the wedding? whats up for the bach party? I might be in town!

Watch for a bright light far to the west of you :)
We've got some huge slash piles we're going to light up on New Years Eve if it's not too windy.

You should be able to roast marshmallows from there when they go up.

Last years was tiny compared to this years.
And last years pile the flames were about 65 feet in the air.
This year the pile is 20 - 25 feet tall and about twice as big around. The junk you have left around after clearing an acre is simply amazing.

Grab a long stick :)

Have a great time! We're driving up to NY to see my parents/family on the 23rd. While we're there we plan on visiting Niagara Falls (Canadian Side). We drive back home on the 31st.

ooh, I am sure I'll be up in st cloud some day around new year's, I will have to see if you'll be free so I can stop by at least and say hi!

@Steve -- wedding is Mar 28th down in Austin. But since this will be my last time in MN before the wedding, gotta have a bachelor party. Only vague ideas as to what's up for the party, but it'll be the 27th. If you're in town, toss an email my way and I can get you details as I get them.

@Norman -- lol, I'll look for the bright light in the sky. ;-)

@Becky -- that would rock!

I'm no where that way :( oh well. Hav fun, Aaron!

For bachelor party details, send me an email. I'm going to assume Aaron's take is "the more, the merrier," unless he informs me otherwise.
